We love our music, but we know the value of friendship, fun and loyalty too.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in Skegness , the Skegness Silver Band\u00a0 is one of Lincolnshire oldest Silver bands. We are of a good and improving standard with mixed age and ability players. The band prides itself on welcoming new players and of developing the idea of “band family”. The band’s aim is to create an environment where making music together is fun and enjoyable, whilst striving for individual and collective musical improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having fun is a key part of\u00a0 this philosophy, as you can see from the photos on our gallery page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band has members with vastly different musical backgrounds, some players have played (and still do) with many different musical groups, whilst for some, the Skegness Silver Band is their first and only experience of playing in a musical group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any new player who is enthusiastic and keen to improve will always be made most welcome. This ‘open door’ philosophy (even if this means sharing parts) is essential if the band is to continue to flourish. We are particularly keen to encourage young players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome and positively encourage all prospective new members to come along. This is regardless of whether there is a specific vacancy being advertised. You can be assured of a warm and genuinely friendly welcome at all times\u00a0(and you’d be more than welcome to join us for our social events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know from first hand experience that making that first call and then coming along for the first time can be a bit daunting, especially if you are feeling a bit rusty. That’s how we all feel at times. Don’t worry! Please make the call and we’ll take care of you.\u00a0 We are always in need of new players and we actively extend a very warm welcome to anyone who wants to come along and give us a try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
